About our posters

All of our designs are available in the following three sizes:

30 x 40 cm
40 x 50 cm
50 x 70 cm

We use the finest, 100% natural and FSC-certified papier. This 270-grams paper is off white and with a kind of ‘egg-shell’ texture Our prints are made in the Netherlands.

Indeed, some designs cost a little more than others. These designs have a special feature: a gold foil starry sky! This feature adds an extra luxurious look and feel to the prints.

The starry sky

Your star map will be generated by using the chosen location, time and date. MrStarsky is basing the unique starry sky on the scientific knowledge of astronomy. We use different sets of data, that allow us to see the positions of the stars very accurately.

We may forget it sometimes, because we can’t see them, but the stars shine very brightly during the day as well. At MrStarsky, we chose to give the sky a lighter or darker color based on the time of day. The lighter ‘daylight’-color to visualize the sky during daytime and the darker ‘nightlight’-color to visualize the sky during nighttime. This applies to all of our designs, except for the Sella Molenaar-designs.

Our designs with animal illustrations have something very special: next to the starry sky itself, the poster contains illustrations of the five star signs that stood central during that special moment. For example: if the constellation lynx was visible in the center of the sky, you’ll find an illustration of a lynx at the bottom of the poster! The illustration changes with the position of the stars! This makes your star map unique.

The starry sky is continuously changing. Sometimes the sky consists of zodiac signs of which we, at MrStarsky, don’t have illustrations of (yet). This means that for those particular birthplaces (in the southern hemisphere during certain moments), it’s impossible to order a poster with an animal design. The tool that helps you create a poster will give the notification: ‘unfortunately a poster cannot be created yet for the location chosen’ – you may want to choose our designs without animal illustrations in this case!

MrStarsky has taken the scientific approach to show the sky as it was during a special occasion, rather than an astrological approach. We’re all familiar with the twelve most-known constellations out of the 88 called the zodiac signs. They represent our horoscopes. It is not guaranteed that your astrological sign was visible at birth, and will, in that case, be included on a poster (after all, everyone born from the 21st till the 21st has the same zodiac sign, but chances are slim that one has the same position of the stars as the next person).

Delivery and returns

Shipping within the Netherlands: An order will be shipped the working day after your order is received, unless you’ve chosen bank transfer as a payment method. We ship all orders using PostNL. In principle PostNL will deliver the packages the day following (except for Sundays). For Dutch deliveries a max of 2-3 working days apply. Through a MyParcel-tracking code you can easily check up on your order.

Shipping outside the Netherlands: An order will be shipped the working day after your order is received, unless you’ve chosen bank transfer as a payment method. We ship all orders using PostNL and its partners. The time of delivery depends on your location (for Belgium in principle delivery will take place the day following – except for Sundays). Through a MyParcel-tracking code you can easily check up on your order.

For orders to be delivered within the Netherlands a shipment contribution of €3,00 is charged upon checkout. The delivery contribution for deliveries outside the Netherlands is based on the actual costs; we charge a contribution in the total costs.

NB/Important information/Good to know:

Due to Brexit, from 1 January 2021 onwards there will no longer be free movement of goods between the UK and the Netherlands. Please note that this this may and most probably will lead to additional costs when ordering products; the recipient in the UK will also need to pay customs clearance costs if the contents of the shipment are worth more than £39.
Please consult your local post office/other postal services for the most current information.

We ship our posters in a flat package, since the paper is too thick to roll. The frames are protected for the journey to you as well. When you order both a poster and a frame, the poster will not be framed before delivery. The glass of the frame comes with protecting foil that must be removed before use.

Since our posters are custom-made, returning them is not possible. We kindly ask you to double check your order confirmation to see whether the name and birth information is correct. Up to 10am CET of the working day after the order is final, you can contact us for additional input. Please forward your order confirmation to order@mrstarsky.com if changes need to be made.

We are doing everything in our power to deliver your package on time and undamaged. If, however, your order does not meet your and our quality standards upon arrival (e.g. damaged en route), we kindly ask you to contact us within a week. Please send us an e-mail at order@mrstarsky.com including your order number and we will come back to you as soon as possible.

About our book

This reading book by MrStarsky is mainly for children aged 0-6 years. They will absolutely love reading about a magical tale on stars and animal friends!

The book measures 22 x 25 cm.

This fun book counts 32 pages.

At MrStarsky we use 100% natural and FSC-approved 170 gsm paper. The books are made in the Netherlands and will last a lifetime of sticky little fingers because we use high quality, solid paper! Not to mention the way in which the magical illustrations by Spanish artist Marta Abad Blay come to life on this beautiful paper.

Yes, it is hardcover finished with matte laminate. This ensures a longer lifespan and makes a beautiful gift.

The illustrations in this book are made by Spanish artist Marta Abad Blay, who also illustrated one of our starry skies. Furthermore, the animals in the story correspond with the ones pictured on the sky!

Well, because even the storyline is completely personalized! Based on the position of the stars at birth, a beautiful, wonderfully illustrated picture book comes to life in which the squirrel meets the specific constellations that were up in the sky at that time. Therefore the animals switch and really correspond with the unique constellations of the stars. And what’s more: the little squirrel goes by the name of the child, which ensures a unique storyline and a very personal book!

Delivery and returns

Delivery within the Netherlands: The book will be shipped within 3-5 weekdays by PostNL.

Delivery to other countries: Outside the Netherlands the book will be shipped within 3-5 weekdays; delivery time depends on the country of destination. Feel free to contact us to get an eta.

The contribution we ask for shipments outside the Netherlands is based on the actual costs. Within the Netherlands we calculate a contribution of €2,-.

We ship our books in a mailbox parcel/box with a top closure. It is carefully wrapped and therefore ready to directly send as a gift, too.

Yes, that is possible for sure. Our books are carefully wrapped and are therefore ready to be sent as a gift directly. You simply add the address details of the receiving party while ordering.
